Anderson lost both of his parents when he was little, so he was raised by his grandparents. They are elderly and unemployed, so he is forced to fend for himself much of the time. Anderson is a fun-loving, hard-working young man. His grandfather is a voodoo priest, and he was raised next to a voodoo temple, but he is a Christian and his faith is very important to him. This scholarship will help him to graduate from high school, and this will open many doors for him in the future. He is interested in working in missions in the future.

It all starts with access to education. For RISING Students, this means providing whatever each student needs to return to school–tuition, uniforms, lunches, and more.
We all need the help of people who've been there before. RISING mentors care for and encourage the holistic growth of each student–mentally, emotionally, and spiritually.
These are the tools students need to succeed, such as access to computers and the Internet and a local Resource Center to study, connect, and grow together.
