About the Student

Sonson graduated from high school two years ago but was unable to continue onto college because he could not afford tuition. He is passionate about his education, believing it is the key to success, but his father is the only provider for his family of 5 and he doesnít make enough to support his education. However, with the help of this scholarship Sonson will be able to complete his first year at the University of Port-Au-Prince. Sonsonís dream is to one day graduate from college, help his family, and help other young people who are also struggling to achieve their dreams.

RISING Scholarships Include:

Education

It all starts with access to education. For RISING Students, this means providing whatever each student needs to return to school–tuition, uniforms, lunches, and more.

Mentoring

We all need the help of people who've been there before. RISING mentors care for and encourage the holistic growth of each student–mentally, emotionally, and spiritually.

Resources

These are the tools students need to succeed, such as access to computers and the Internet and a local Resource Center to study, connect, and grow together.
