About the Student

Ken was raised by his mother alone, and finances have always been a struggle for them. Lately, things have been even more difficult because Kenís mother now has severe diabetes and is unable to work, leaving him as the sole provider for the family. His goal is to go to college so he can get a decent job and build a better life for himself, his mother and perhaps his future family. This scholarship will enable him to begin his first year at the University of Port-Au-Prince and bring him one step closer to this goal.

RISING Scholarships Include:

Education

It all starts with access to education. For RISING Students, this means providing whatever each student needs to return to school–tuition, uniforms, lunches, and more.

Mentoring

We all need the help of people who've been there before. RISING mentors care for and encourage the holistic growth of each student–mentally, emotionally, and spiritually.

Resources

These are the tools students need to succeed, such as access to computers and the Internet and a local Resource Center to study, connect, and grow together.

RISING is a program of Experience Mission
