Diemmy’s mother passed away when he was a child and from that time he was raised by his aunt. She is now elderly an unable to support him so he is completely on his own. Currently, he lives alone in a tent in his neighbor’s yard. Because he has no formal training he’ll do any job he can find. Sometimes you will find him hauling water or assisting local masons or carpenters. He is a very hard worker, and he takes care of himself, but he has his sights set much higher than hauling water. His dream is to graduate from high school and then move on to higher education with a goal of becoming a lawyer.

It all starts with access to education. For RISING Students, this means providing whatever each student needs to return to school–tuition, uniforms, lunches, and more.
We all need the help of people who've been there before. RISING mentors care for and encourage the holistic growth of each student–mentally, emotionally, and spiritually.
These are the tools students need to succeed, such as access to computers and the Internet and a local Resource Center to study, connect, and grow together.
