Jhondany lives with his mother and three younger sisters in Carrefour. His mother struggles just to earn enough money to provide for the basic needs of the family, so Jhondany is determined to attend college and position himself to build a better life for his family. He started classes but was forced to drop out for financial reasons. He now finds himself without a job and with no way to continue his education. This scholarship will enable him to return to his classes and begin building his future. Jhondany is very athletic, and when he’s not working or studying he loves to play soccer.

It all starts with access to education. For RISING Students, this means providing whatever each student needs to return to school–tuition, uniforms, lunches, and more.
We all need the help of people who've been there before. RISING mentors care for and encourage the holistic growth of each student–mentally, emotionally, and spiritually.
These are the tools students need to succeed, such as access to computers and the Internet and a local Resource Center to study, connect, and grow together.
