Esthemha lives with her mother and two older siblings. Their father has abandoned the family, and their only source of income is her mother's small street stand selling fried food that she cooks. Her mother works hard to support her kids, but she doesn't have enough leftover funds to help Esthemha continue her high school education. Esthemha is determined to continue her education and help support her family but she simply doesn't have the means. This scholarship will enable her to complete her junior year of high school.

It all starts with access to education. For RISING Students, this means providing whatever each student needs to return to school–tuition, uniforms, lunches, and more.
We all need the help of people who've been there before. RISING mentors care for and encourage the holistic growth of each student–mentally, emotionally, and spiritually.
These are the tools students need to succeed, such as access to computers and the Internet and a local Resource Center to study, connect, and grow together.
