Holnac is the oldest of his mother's five kids, and since she isn't working they've struggled immensely. For a while he was living with his neighbors who were paying for his school, but when they started struggling, they could no longer afford to help him. After sitting out for a couple of years, he received a RISING scholarship enabling him to return to school. Last year he completed his sophomore year of high school, and this scholarship will enable him to complete his junior year. Holnac loves math, and he hopes to one day become an engineer.

It all starts with access to education. For RISING Students, this means providing whatever each student needs to return to school–tuition, uniforms, lunches, and more.
We all need the help of people who've been there before. RISING mentors care for and encourage the holistic growth of each student–mentally, emotionally, and spiritually.
These are the tools students need to succeed, such as access to computers and the Internet and a local Resource Center to study, connect, and grow together.
