Nerline lives with her mother, brother and sister. Her father died a few years back and until recently she was unsure if she would ever further her education at university because money is very tight in her family. Now she is attending the University of Port-au-Prince and studying Communications. She believes that Communications is an important field that is vital to the success of many businesses. She is interested in how communication impacts us all in our everyday lives.
Though she is unsure of where she will end up after she finishes school, she is interested in possibly working for a television station. Nerline expresses how thankful she is for helping her attend university. She is also thankful for her mentor who takes care of making payments for her classes and for always checking with her about how things are going. She is extremely grateful for her mentor and for this opportunity.

Encourage this student as they embark on a journey toward finishing their education! When they log in to the Student section of our website, they'll be able to look at all of thier messages from donors and supporters alike.
It all starts with access to education. For RISING Students, this means providing whatever each student needs to return to school–tuition, uniforms, lunches, and more.
We all need the help of people who've been there before. RISING mentors care for and encourage the holistic growth of each student–mentally, emotionally, and spiritually.
These are the tools students need to succeed, such as access to computers and the Internet and a local Resource Center to study, connect, and grow together.
